Welcome to the Website of "SOUTHAMPTON HOSPITAL RADIO", we have been broadcasting to the patients of Southampton continuously since October 1952. You can now "listen live", via our link at the top of the page.

Affiliated to the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) and serving the Southampton General and Princess Anne Hospitals, we provide entertainment to the patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

All of the members of Southampton Hospital Broadcasting Association (SOHBA) were honoured to be awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service on the 2nd June 2012.

In 2019 one of our weekly Tuesday shows "Girls Talk" was shortlisted for the National Hospital Radio Awards in the Best Programme with Multiple Presenters catagory.

As well as programmes from our Studios we also cover Outside Broadcasts including live commentaries from the Ageas Bowl and St. Mary's stadium. You can listen to live cricket via our listen now button when Hampshire are playing, but due to copyrite issues we can only broadcast live football to patients in the hospital via the bedside Hospedia system. During this time internet listeners will still be able to hear our normal day listings.

Look around our website to see what we offer, and if you want to get involved why not join us as a volunteer.

Because of the Coronavirus pandemic during the 1st National lockdown, we were unable to broadcast "Live" from our Hospital Radio Studios from the end of March until mid July last year.
We are now returning to normal programing, but due to the virus and Hospital guidlines we are still unable to visit patients on the wards to collect requests.

Please ring us on 023 8078 5151 and leave a message and request.

You can also leave a music request or send someone in Hospital a message by filling out the "Make a request" form via the link or to:
